Ronda Rousey comments on facing Charlotte Flair this early in her WWE career, taking first chair shots

Tonight, Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will take on Charlotte Flair at Survivor Series. Initially, Rousey was set to face SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Unfortunately, Lynch suffered a broken nose during a Raw invasion angle after being punched by Nia Jax. Flair will now serve as Lynch’s replacement for the match.

Rousey recently did a Q&A on her YouTube channel ahead of the contest. In regards to facing Flair so early on in her WWE career, Rousey said she’d have liked to have had more experience inside the ring before facing “The Queen” – but she’s ready:

“If it was my absolute preference I would probably choose to have more experience and be more developed in the ring before I would have the opportunity to share it with someone like Charlotte Flair,” Rousey said.

“But you know, opportunities come when they come. I’m ready to seize it, I’ve succeeded at crazier things before and I was thrown into the WWE deep end since day one, and I haven’t drowned yet. Keep sending them my way, I’ll keep doing my absolute best to keep surpassing expectations.”

“The Rowdy One” then commented on taking her first chair shots in WWE, as Becky Lynch attacked Rousey with a steel chair during their Raw brawl this past Monday. Here’s what she had to say about the experience:

“It was so cool, it was really, really cool,” Rousey said. “It was really cool, actually, to get my first chair shot. I was almost honored to be in that kind of setting, to get my first chair shot.”
