It seems that Poe Dameron’s relationship with Leia Organa has a bit more to it as Oscar Isaac has stated that Star Wars: Episode IX will continue to explore it and give her a place of honor.
During a recent interview, Oscar Isaac talked about the late Carrie Fisher’s role in the upcoming film. While the exact content of the arc was not revealed it seems to be something of a continuation of the arc Poe Damian shared with both Leia and Vice Admiral Holdo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It will be that of the relatively young, impulsive hotshot and the older, more grounded leader.
He also stated that he was not surprised that unused footage of Leia would be finding its way into Star Wars: Episode IX:
I wasn’t surprised because I remember we were doing that, we worked a lot. [Fisher] and I worked together so much. We would talk about the scenes, and we got very tight during the shooting of that. So it was a beautiful thing to see, and it gets carried over into the new film as well.
Oscar Isaac then stated that Carrie Fisher’s role in the film was an important one and should not be one that simply fades away:
It was definitely an unusual thing, but I also think it was right to engage with her character, and not just let it be something that fades away.
He later stated that the film would give Carrie Fisher and Leia Organa “a proper place of honor.” in the upcoming film. If this is to be believed, both Poe Damian and Leia have a bit more growing to do before their story is finished.
What do you all make of Oscar Isaac’s comments? Are you looking forward to seeing Leia and Poe’s arc reach its final stage? Was it sufficiently explored in Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Venom Concept Art Reveals Ridiculous Chest Symbol Designs For Tom Hardy
New concept artwork for Tom Hardy’s Venom shows off several versions of the symbiote chest symbol, revealing the designs for what we could have gotten in the film.
It’s safe to say that Tom Hardy’s Venom wasn’t enjoyed much by critics, but fans seemed to have liked it given how well it did at the box office. The film lacked modern elements of a superhero film and felt like it disregarded storytelling, a tight plot and a convincing story for its characters. Nevertheless, the action sequences and the CGI for the Venom characters were outstanding. Be that as it may, many fans missed the fact that Venom himself didn’t feature the classic white spider on his chest, which was a big let-down after several years waiting for a new iteration of the Spider-man baddie after the whole Topher Grace fiasco in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3.
Well, new concept artwork revealed by The Venom Site recently surfaced and it features a white chest brand for Tom Hardy, but not the classic white spider. Nevertheless, it’s a more comic accurate look for Tom Hardy than the one we saw in the film. Check out the pictures in the gallery below.
Venom follows Eddie Brock as he attempts to revive his journalism career by investigating the Life Foundation only to come into contact with an alien symbiote that bonds with him, granting him powers and transforming him into the titular anti-hero.
A sequel to Venom is currently in the works at Sony Pictures with writer Kelly Marcel. Hardy, Williams, and Harrelson are expected to return, but Fleischer likely won’t be back in the director’s chair as he’s busy shooting the studio’s Zombieland sequel.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, the film stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
One of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters takes center stage as Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) becomes the host for the alien symbiote Venom. As a journalist, Eddie has been trying to take down the notorious founder of the Life Foundation, genius Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) – and that obsession ruined his career and his relationship with his girlfriend, Anne Weying (Michelle Williams).
Upon investigating one of Drake’s experiments, the alien Venom merges with Eddie’s body, and he suddenly has incredible new superpowers, as well as the chance to do just about whatever he wants. Twisted, dark, unpredictable, and fueled by rage, Venom leaves Eddie wrestling to control dangerous abilities that he also finds empowering and intoxicating. As Eddie and Venom need each other to get what they’re looking for, they become more and more intertwined — where does Eddie end and Venom begin?
Venom is now available on Digital HD and on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD.
