Everything We Know About Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Including James Gunn’s Return

It has been a long road to Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The film was first announced in 2017 by director James Gunn in a March interview, during which he spilled that Marvel Studios definitely wanted to give the third film the green light; it was a matter of who would be behind the camera.

Gunn eventually went on to confirm that he would return to the director’s seat for the third film in a lengthy post on his Facebook page, writing “. . . we will work on creating the story that goes beyond what you expect.” Subsequently, the film has gone through a series of trials and tribulations: Gunn was fired from the project on July 20, 2018; production was put on hold in August, before Marvel officially pushed the beginning of production to February 2021. Now, just under a year after Gunn was fired, Marvel revealed that the director has been reinstated.

We know that’s a lot for one film, so we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about Guardians of the Galaxy 3 ahead!
